Engraving metal and jewelry in the xTool M2
The 3 W infrared laser module is a replaceable 1064 nm head for the xTool M2 that marks stainless steel, aluminum, brass, silver, gold and selected plastics. Metals absorb this beam better than blue laser light, so you can use it for lettering on jewelry, engraving on metal key rings and serial number markings.
The module works on a 412 x 310 mm area and uses the standard M2 power supply. You position the design with the red cross, and before first use you calibrate the camera in xTool Studio.

Did you know?
Why infrared for metal
A blue laser struggles with highly reflective metals such as mirror-finish steel and copper. The 1064 nm infrared beam is absorbed better by metals, which is why xTool recommends it for marking steel, aluminum and precious metals.

Frequently asked questions
What is this module for?
The 3 W infrared module is designed for marking and engraving metals and plastics. For cutting wood and acrylic in the M2, use the 10 W and 20 W diode modules.
Does the RA3 Lite need a shield?
No. With the 3 W infrared module, the laser shield from the RA3 Lite kit is not needed.
The fan sometimes stops. Why?
The module fan changes speed depending on temperature and may stop briefly. This is normal.

30 days to return, without giving a reason
