The QIDI Q2 is a fast, enclosed 3D printer utilizing CoreXY kinematics, a metal construction, and an X-axis linear guide. A 270 x 270 x 256 mm build volume, a hotend up to 370°C , a bed up to 120°C , and an actively heated chamber up to 65°C enable working with both basic and demanding filaments . The printhead can move at speeds of up to 600 mm/s and acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s². The Q2 offers automatic leveling using the nozzle and Load Cell sensor, a 1080p camera with AI print error detection , a filament end sensor, resonance compensation, and print recovery after a power outage. A G3 + HEPA H12 + activated carbon filtration system supports air purification, and compatibility with the QIDI Box allows for expansion of the device for multi-color and multi-material printing.

The CoreXY system utilizes a metal frame for the motion mechanism, a high-hardness X-axis linear guide, and 1.5GT belts with increased tooth density to help minimize VFA artifacts. The Z-axis utilizes two independently driven lead screws, and a resonance compensation feature further reduces the impact of vibration on the build surface. The head reaches a travel speed of up to 600 mm/s and an acceleration of up to 20,000 mm/s² , making it suitable for both rapid prototyping and production.

QIDI Q2 automatic leveling and precise first layer

The QIDI Q2 features an automatic leveling system using a Load Cell sensor integrated into the hotend . During measurement, the nozzle itself acts as the contact element, eliminating the offset from the filament application point that occurs with a separate probe. This solution simplifies device setup and helps achieve a correct first layer without time-consuming manual platform leveling. A magnetic, double-sided plate with a textured PEI surface facilitates the adhesion of the first layers and allows for convenient removal of finished models after printing.

The QIDI Q2 isn't limited to using only basic filaments, as the hotend reaches temperatures up to 370°C , and the print bed can be heated to 120°C . The second-generation PTC chamber heating system allows for temperatures up to 65°C , providing a more stable thermal environment for materials susceptible to shrinkage and delamination. The direct extruder uses hardened steel gears, while the bimetallic nozzle increases the system's durability when working with more demanding filaments. This allows the printer to support PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PA, PC, and carbon and glass fiber-reinforced polymers , and the manufacturer also indicates the ability to print with PPS-CF.

AI Camera, Air Filtration, and Print Control Systems

An integrated camera with resolutions up to 1080p allows you to monitor workflow and create time-lapse recordings, while the AI function detects irregularities such as spaghetti formation. The sealed chamber is equipped with a 3-in-1 filtration system consisting of a G3 pre-filter, an HEPA H12 filter, and a coconut shell activated carbon filter. The Q2C retains its 270 x 270 x 256 mm build volume, a hotend up to 370°C, and a printhead speed of up to 600 mm/s, but is a simplified version without active chamber heating. The air filter and camera are optional . The Q2 Combo, on the other hand, is based on the Q2's equipment, but the kit also includes the QIDI Box system for automatic multi-filament handling . The QIDI Box enables multi-color and multi-material printing. automatic spool switching, NFC-enabled QIDI filament recognition, and material drying during printing. By connecting up to four modules, the system can handle up to 16 materials. The Q2 is therefore suitable for users who need a complete single-material printer with the option of future expansion. The Q2C lowers the entry threshold at the expense of some equipment, while the Q2 Combo is a solution designed from the ground up for multi-color operation.
