The QIDI Max4 Combo is a large-format, enclosed CoreXY 3D printer bundled with the QIDI Box system for automated multi-color and multi-material printing . Maximum head speed is 800 mm/s , acceleration up to 30,000 mm/s², and maximum hotend flow of 40 mm³/s. The design utilizes closed-loop FOC motors, an X-axis linear guide, 1.5GT belts, and a precise Z-axis system with 2 mm pitch screws. The equipment also includes automatic Load Cell leveling, AI camera, 3-in-1 filtration, Input Shaping , and communication via WiFi, Ethernet and USB , while the QIDI Box expands printing capabilities with automatic multi-filament support.

Large-format 3D printing with the fast CoreXY system

The 390 x 390 x 340 mm build volume allows for the production of large parts without having to divide the project into multiple smaller parts. This spacious area can also be used to accommodate multiple models and produce short runs in a single job. The CoreXY mechanism features a metal structure, an X-axis linear guide, steel Y-axis shafts, and 1.5GT 10 mm wide belts for stable head guidance. Closed-loop FOC motors enable movement speeds of up to 800 mm/s and accelerations of up to 30,000 mm/s² , making the Max4 Combo suitable for both rapid prototyping and the production of complex functional parts.

Stable Z-axis and automatic first layer calibration

The build platform is guided by two independent Z-axis drives with 2mm pitch screws and four 12mm diameter steel linear shafts. Backlash limiting nuts support precise platform positioning and layer-by-layer repeatability when printing tall models. Automatic leveling utilizes a Load Cell sensor integrated into the hotend , allowing the nozzle to directly measure the bed surface. This solution eliminates the offset typical of a separate probe , and the Input Shaping function additionally helps compensate for mechanical vibrations that occur during rapid changes in direction.

Uniform table heating and active cooling control

The 390 x 390 mm heating bed utilizes a full-surface silicone layer with densely spaced heating wires and thermal insulation . The Max4 also utilizes an active cooling control system that works in conjunction with the chamber heating , allowing for better adjustment of thermal conditions to the material being used. The optional Polar Cooler directs cool air directly towards the extruder , reducing excessive filament heating and the risk of filament blockage when operating at elevated chamber temperatures.

It allows for the creation of multi-color and multi-material models, as well as the use of different model and support materials in a single project. The QIDI Box offers filament drying at up to 65°C during printing and an automatic spool switching function, allowing you to continue printing from the next spool after the material runs out. The system can be expanded by connecting up to four QIDI Box modules, allowing you to work with up to 16 materials , significantly increasing the possibilities of creating complex models.

AI Camera, 3-in-1 Filtration and Print Process Control

The standard Max4 is compatible with the QIDI Box, but the module is not included in the standard equipment of this variant and can be purchased as an upgrade. The Max4 Combo is factory-installed with the QIDI Box , providing automatic multi-filament handling, multi-color and multi-material printing, and in-module material drying. The Combo variant is therefore primarily intended for projects that require the functionality of a multi-material system without the need for subsequent upgrades.
