Product description: RC Switch with Isolated Solid State Relay SPST - 30V 10A - Soldered Connectors - Pololu 5424

The Pololu RC Switch allows you to control electrical devices directly using a standard radio control RC signal . The control circuit operates at voltages from 2.7 V to 16 V and analyzes the input pulse width, based on which it activates or deactivates a solid-state relay . The default switching threshold is approximately 1700 µs , and with learning mode, you can change both the threshold value and the activation direction. The actuator is a pair of anti-clockwise MOSFET transistors , providing a symmetrical output and enabling bidirectional current flow . This solution allows the module to be used as both a high-side and low-side switch. The absence of mechanical contacts means quiet operation and avoids the wear and sparking problems typical of electromechanical relays.

The system supports a control voltage of 2.7 V to 16 V and can switch loads up to 30 V and 10 A.

Main features of the RC module

  • SPST solid state relay : enables electronic switching of the load without mechanical contact elements
  • Maximum load current 10 A : allows you to control devices that require relatively high current
  • Load voltage up to 30V : 30V is the absolute maximum voltage for the switched circuit
  • RC Signal Control : The module analyzes the pulse width coming from an RC receiver or servo controller.
  • Adjustable activation threshold : Learning mode allows you to configure the switching threshold and direction of operation
  • Default threshold around 1700 µs : normally the relay activates when the set pulse width threshold is exceeded
  • Hysteresis ±64 µs : reduces unwanted switching when the signal is close to the threshold
  • Safe-start function : reduces the risk of unexpected load switching when starting the system
  • Galvanic isolation : optically isolated driver separates the control section from the load circuit
  • Bidirectional MOSFET output : the push-pull connection of the transistors allows current to flow in both directions
  • High-side and low-side control : symmetrical output allows flexible switch placement in the circuit
  • OUT and GOOD outputs : allow you to monitor the relay status and the correctness of the received RC signal
  • LED : allows for quick control of the current operating status of the module
  • Soldered connectors : the module is equipped with a 1x3 goldpin connector with a 2.54 mm pitch and a 2-pin screw connector with a 3.5 mm pitch
  • Small dimensions : compact board makes it easy to install in RC models, robots and other devices with limited space
