IDC wires and connectors - An IDC connector is an electrical connector designed to connect to insulated wires placed tightly together as a ribbon. IDC connectors can be crimped onto wires without stripping the insulation, using special crimping machines. When properly made, the connectors fuse with the conductors in the cable, creating a theoretically reliable, leak-proof connection. A set with an IDC connector forms what is called a tub connector, sometimes called an edge connector. This is a type of multi-pin pin connector that easily connects multiple signals together.

The IDC connector is a popular type of electrical connector used to connect to insulated wires. The wires are located close to each other and together form a flexible tape. Thanks to the use of special crimpers, there is no need to remove the insulation from the wires before crimping. Correct crimping guarantees a durable and strong connection.
IDC connectors together with the so-called tub sockets enable a rigid connection of the tape, e.g. with a printed circuit board . The tape itself is flexible, ensuring easy assembly and disassembly and connection in hard-to-reach places. Thanks to the use of special guides, the cables are arranged at the appropriate distance from each other. Depending on the needs and design requirements, both edge tubular connectors (at an angle of 90 degrees) and straight tubular connectors can be used. IDC cables and connectors allow you to easily connect a large number of signals together.
