The BMV080 is the world's smallest dust sensor (4.4 x 3 x 3 mm) that monitors air pollution without the need for a fan . It uses an ultra-compact laser with a built-in photodiode and advanced algorithms to measure PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 particles in free space. The sensor is packaged on a board with flexible FPC cable and a Qwiic connector , allowing for easy connection to Raspberry Pi systems or other I2C or SPI-enabled devices. It supports I2C address adjustment and offers rapid prototyping thanks to standard 2.54 mm pin spacing .
