The Modulino LED Matrix ABX00152 is designed for quick integration with the Arduino ecosystem and Modulino modules. The display uses an 8x12 LED matrix — 96 individually controllable blue LEDs —that allows for the presentation of text, icons, animations, and simple graphics. The module offers functionality compatible with the LED matrix built into the Arduino UNO R4 WiFi board, making it easy to use pre-built examples and code. The display is controlled by an STM32C011F4U6TR microcontroller, which supports charlieplexing and I2C communication. Thanks to the ability to programmatically change the I2C address , multiple Modulino LED Matrix modules can be used in a single project .

Qwiic connectivity and module pinout
The Modulino LED Matrix uses Qwiic connectors , which allow you to quickly connect the module to compatible Arduino boards without complicated wiring. Communication is via the I2C bus, and the module operates at 3.3V . Daisy-chain technology allows you to connect multiple Modulino modules in a single system. The board also includes I2C bus pads: SDA , SCL , 3.3V , and GND . Additional SWD service pins are used for diagnostics and programming the STM32 microcontroller. The module is compatible with Arduino UNO R4 WiFi, Arduino UNO Q, Nano ESP32, Nano RP2040 Connect, Nano 33 BLE, Nano 33 BLE Sense, Nano 33 IoT, and Nano Matter, among others . For Arduino Nano boards, a convenient solution is to use the Arduino Nano Connector Carrier , which provides Qwiic connectors. The module can also work with other Qwiic devices, provided that the voltage is 3.3 V compatible. Programmatic change of the I2C address allows you to avoid address conflicts in more complex projects.

The manufacturer provides the Modulino library , which simplifies display operation and allows you to quickly create text, animations, icons, and custom graphics. The Arduino IDE provides functions for initializing the module, displaying individual frames, playing animation sequences, clearing the matrix, and setting operating modes. Integration with ArduinoGraphics allows you to draw lines, points, rectangles, and circles without having to manually control each LED. The module also supports grayscale mode with 16 brightness levels . In MicroPython, you can control individual pixels, draw shapes, display text, and create animations. Available methods allow you to set pixels, clear the screen, draw horizontal and vertical lines, rectangles, and ellipses, and load pre-made frames, among other things.
