Multimeters are, next to the oscilloscope, the second most important measuring device in every electronics workshop and laboratory. Regardless of whether you have a small, hobby electronics workshop, a professional service, prototyping workshop or an academic laboratory - multimeters are devices that will always be useful to you! Multimeters are measuring devices that can measure different values. The most popular multimeter models will be able to measure values such as voltage, current, resistance, resistance and - in the better models - capacitance, inductance and frequency. Some meters are equipped with functions for measuring non-electrical values (temperature, humidity, light intensity). High-quality multimeters are equipment necessary for every electronics! In our Botland store you can buy the highest quality multimeters that you will use in a completely trouble-free way for a many, many long years! See all of our best products below now!

Meters (multimeter) for all applications
The choice of a multimeter is dictated primarily by the desired range of measurement functionality and the required accuracy . Basic electrical measurements can be performed with virtually any of them, although in the case of precision systems, attention should be paid to the accuracy class of the device (expressed as a percentage of the measurement range). A digital meter, equipped with an LCD display, is the most popular type of this device today, although many people still use analog (pointer) meters.
Universal meter (digital multimeter) - Parameters, parameters...
A classic multimeter allows you to measure direct and alternating voltage (usually with frequencies close to 50Hz, although better models can work with higher frequency signals), direct current, and resistance. Voltage, resistance and current (i.e. current) are the parameters checked.
Most multimeters also have the function of measuring the forward voltage of semiconductor diodes and detecting short circuits (so-called walk test - the multimeter emits an acoustic signal after detecting resistance below a specified value). More advanced meters can also measure alternating current in a specific frequency range, and sometimes there is also a function of measuring frequency and pulse duty cycle - the latter option is particularly useful for testing PWM generators, e.g. in modeling servo controllers or smooth regulation systems.
Additional functions of universal meters
Virtually all electrical measurement instruments boast additional functions that significantly expand measurement capabilities or facilitate operation. Some meters have the ability to turn on the screen backlight, which makes it easier to work in the dark or in poor lighting. Almost every multimeter also has the option of freezing the display (HOLD), which makes it extremely easy to write down the exact measurement value at a given moment. A multimeter can also facilitate battery testing and measurement of the gain of bipolar transistors. Noteworthy are models with a USB connection, which allows the meter to be used as a measurement data logger. Another practical feature of multimeters is automatic switch-off. This solution prevents accidental discharge of the battery.
Universal meters that allow you to measure current, voltage, resistance and other parameters are offered, among others: in sets containing flexible measurement cables. Each manufacturer, or more precisely, the meters available in the Botland store's assortment, are distinguished by high measurement accuracy and repeatability. Universal meters - FAQ
Universal meter , a multimeter is the most important device in an electronics workshop. It will be useful in virtually every home. A good meter will show voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, inductance, and frequency. Some models have functions for measuring values such as temperature and illuminance.
The multimeter will be useful in diagnosing car electronics , for example for checking the condition of the battery. We will find car, home and workshop "power guzzlers" with it. It is also a must-have device when designing a circuit. In short - this ammeter, ohmmeter, wattmeter and voltmeter in one.
If the digital multimeter displays the OL symbol, it indicates that the measurement range has been exceeded (Over Limit). Then you need to increase the scope. In other cases, the symbol means an open loop - there is no path for current to flow from one probe to another.
