Programming M5Stack PaperMono with ESP32-S3

The M5Stack PaperMono can be programmed using both the Arduino IDE and the UiFlow2 environment , making the platform suitable for beginners and more advanced users. The Arduino IDE supports libraries such as the M5Unified, M5GFX, M5PM1, M5IOE1, M5Unit-NFC, and RadioLib, simplifying the use of the display, NFC, LoRa, sensors, and other components. Examples and materials for ESP-IDF and PlatformIO are also available, facilitating the implementation of more complex embedded projects. UiFlow2, on the other hand, allows you to create programs using graphical Blockly blocks , allowing you to get started without having to manually write all the code. The device can communicate with the UiFlow2 environment via Wi-Fi using Access Code or via USB. The completed program can be run as a test program or saved to PaperMono's memory and run without a permanent connection to a computer.

Comparison of M5Stack PaperMono and PaperMono-Lite

PaperMono and PaperMono-Lite use the same ESP32-S3R8 processor and a 3.97" e-paper touchscreen , so both models are a good basis for energy-efficient interfaces and portable devices. The most important difference is the presence of NFC and LoRa modules in the full version of PaperMono. PaperMono-Lite is a simpler variant intended for projects where long-range radio communication and proximity identification are not needed.
