The Adafruit USB Type-C CC Resistor Fixer was created for USB Type-C devices that don't function properly when connected to USB-C ports or USB Power Delivery chargers. This problem is most often caused by the lack of two required 5.1kΩ CC resistors , responsible for connection negotiation and 5V power delivery . The adapter is mounted between the cable and the device or directly in a poorly designed port . The circuit forwards the VBUS, GND, and basic USB data lines while adding the missing CC resistors on the port side . This allows the device to be correctly detected and powered via the USB-C port. A built-in LED allows for quick verification of the presence of power.
