Product description: SMLIGHT SLZB-06M - EFR32MG21 ZigBee gateway for Home Assistant - Ethernet / PoE / USB / LAN / WiFi
The SLZB-06M is a modern ZigBee gateway designed for building stable and scalable home automation networks. At the heart of the device is a Silicon Labs EFR32MG21 chip responsible for ZigBee and Thread communication, and an ESP32 microcontroller handling network functions, configuration, and Wi-Fi communication. Supporting Ethernet , PoE, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C, the coordinator can be mounted in the optimal location, regardless of the Home Assistant server's installation. The coordinator is factory-ready and requires no additional programming. It supports ZigBee2MQTT, ZHA, and Matter over Thread , offering extensive integration options for building automation systems. An additional advantage is the SLZB-OS platform with a web interface, OTA updates, diagnostic functions, and remote configuration capabilities.
Main features of SMLIGHT SLZB-06M

- Additional ESP32 microcontroller : supports WiFi, configuration interface and network functions
- Three communication methods : Ethernet, WiFi and USB
- Powered by PoE 802.3af or USB Type-C : flexible installation without the need for an additional power supply
- External 5 dB antenna : greater range and more stable ZigBee connections
- 20 dB RF Amplifier : Improves Wireless Communication Quality
- ZigBee2MQTT and ZHA support : ready for Home Assistant integration
- Matter over Thread support : compatibility with modern home automation standards
- OTA updates : convenient software updates over the network
- ZigBee coordinator or router mode : ability to adapt operation to the installation needs
- SLZB-OS : powerful software with web interface, VPN and diagnostic functions
Ethernet, PoE, USB Type-C and WiFi connectivity
The SLZB-06M offers several communication methods with the master system, making it easy to tailor to a specific installation. The device can operate via Ethernet, WiFi, or USB , allowing the coordinator to be mounted in a location that provides the best ZigBee network coverage. Support for PoE compliant with the IEEE802.3af standard enables simultaneous data and power transmission over a single network cable. This is particularly convenient in installations where the Home Assistant server is located in a rack, next to a router, or elsewhere remote from ZigBee devices. The SLZB-06M also supports Ethernet-to-WiFi Bridge mode, expanding the device's usability within the local network.
Home Assistant compatibility and SLZB-OS software
The SLZB-06M adapter is designed to work with popular home automation platforms. It is compatible with Home Assistant and supports both ZHA and ZigBee2MQTT integration. This allows you to build an extensive network of ZigBee devices managed from a single platform. The device runs the SLZB-OS system, which provides a local web interface, over-the-air updates, a configuration generator for ZHA and ZigBee2MQTT, Home Assistant auto-detection features, WireGuard VPN support, and advanced security options. This solution is user-friendly for both beginners and advanced installers.
