A network gateway is a device that allows you to connect networks with different data transmission solutions, such as ZigBee to WiFi or Z-Wave to WiFi. How do network gateways work in practice? Devices of this type allow you to connect from one network to another. The basic task of the host is to send to the initially programmed network gateway, or more precisely to specific IP (Internet Protocol Address) gateways, every packet that was directed to hosts outside the network. In practice, this means that a particular host without an address, the so-called default gateway, will only exchange information with computers within the same network.
