How do Marveldex sensors work?
Pressure sensors are one of the most important types of sensors that we unknowingly use in our daily lives. They are small devices that send different signals to their outputs under pressure - higher pressure results in a higher voltage output, while lower pressure results in a lower voltage value. The process involves the conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy. This type of device uses the phenomenon of change in electrical resistance, resulting from the lengthening or shortening of a conductor. When the resistance is increased, less voltage will flow through the sensor (the pressure is lower), whereas decreasing the resistance value will cause the voltage to flow more freely, thanks to which its value at the output will be higher, which means that the pressure will increase by a certain value.
For what purposes can Marveldex sensors be used?
Pressure sensors are devices, which are perfect for example in new cars to detect the presence of a person on the seat - they inform the on-board computer about the presence of a person on the seat, so it can generate the information about fastening seatbelts. Pressure sensors are also used in laptop keyboards, thanks to which electronic pens and buttons are created that recognize the amount of pressure, which determines the type of action of the connected device (for example, the speed of a car in a computer game). Currently, robotic prostheses for damaged limbs are being developed around the world. Pressure sensors of this type can be an integral part of the artificial skin, allowing the user to feel the pressure of objects on the artificial hand.
