Even before the decade of the 1990s - before the international community had graphical operating systems that made computers easier to use even for those unfamiliar with programming - the Seagate brand had already established itself as the leader in the hard drive industry, with revenues approaching $1 billion per year. Seagate has also pioneered many innovations, including shock-resistant drives, the world's first 7200-RPM hard drive (and later, the world's first 7200-RPM drive), and a host of other new products. (and later 10,000 or 15,000 rpm, among others). Later, in the era of notebook computers, Seagate also achieved record-breaking capacities for notebook storage media. Also the first record-breaking external drive (with a capacity of 3TB) was created by the American manufacturer. One of the latest Seagate successes is HAMR (Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording Technology) allowing to record even 1TB of data per 1 square inch!
