Kingston brand is well known even to those people who have to deal with the computer industry only in the basic sense - using personal computers or computer equipment in the workplace. Compared with other IT manufacturers, the U.S. manufacturer has chosen a relatively narrow specialization - it deals mainly with the computer memory industry. The red logo with a geometric image of a male head adorns millions of portable memory devices in use worldwide. Kingston Technology Corporation was founded in 1987 with an excellent idea to upgrade surface-mounted memory modules. Already after a few years, the brand was at the top of the list of the fastest-growing US private companies (the ranking was created by the editors of the business magazine Inc. and Kingston repeated its success also on its 20th anniversary). After only 8 years of operation, the sales of storage devices of the Californian company exceeded one billion dollars per year.
