Although it is plastic, it can be tightened well and firmly, one sealing pad is included (two would be useful, but I preferred to lubricate the hole with adhesive sealant), the upper sphincter of the cable can be tightened a lot and seals well. The only disadvantage is that the grommet is quite long and sticks out perpendicular to the surface quite a lot - but it probably can't be shorter because of the necessary thread.
