A Raspberry Pi IoT gateway for the control cabinet
reComputer R1126-10 is an industrial IoT gateway with a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB eMMC in a fanless aluminum DIN-rail case. The CM4 module has a quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A72 processor plus WiFi and Bluetooth LE, a low-energy Bluetooth, so you can run Raspberry Pi OS and familiar tools such as Node-RED on the gateway.
You connect industrial devices through 2 isolated RS485 ports, 2 isolated RS232 ports and 2 isolated digital inputs and 2 outputs. For networking there are a Gigabit Ethernet port and a second 100 Mb/s port, and the Mini-PCIe slots take a 4G or LoRa module, long-range radio connectivity. The gateway operates at temperatures from -30 °C to 70 °C and runs on 9 V to 36 V DC through a 2-pin terminal block with overvoltage protection up to 40 V.

A DIN-rail case that runs without a fan
The 6061 aluminum case with transparent polycarbonate side panels dissipates heat passively, so there is no fan inside that could draw in dust. You snap the gateway onto a DIN rail with the clip from the set or screw it to a wall. The case has an IP40 rating, and the ports meet the EN 61000-4-2 electrostatic discharge immunity requirements at level 3.
An RTC clock with a CR2032 battery keeps the time after a power loss, and you can set the hardware watchdog, a chip that restarts a hung system by itself, in the range from 1 to 255 seconds. Credentials are protected by the ATECC608A encryption chip.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a Raspberry Pi CM5?
No. The reComputer R1126-10 is built on a Raspberry Pi CM4 module with a Broadcom BCM2711 processor (4 Cortex-A72 cores at 1.5 GHz), 4 GB RAM, 64 GB eMMC and WiFi and Bluetooth LE.
How is it different from R1125-10?
The models differ only in eMMC storage: the R1126-10 has 64 GB and the R1125-10 has 32 GB. The processor, RAM, connectors, case and power supply are the same.
How do I flash the system?
Move the BOOT switch, connect the gateway to a computer with a USB Type-C cable and run the rpiboot tool, then flash the official Seeed system image with Raspberry Pi Imager.
Do 4G and LoRa work together?
No. The Mini-PCIe slot with the SIM card takes a 4G modem or a LoRa module in the USB version, and the second slot takes a LoRa module in the SPI or USB version. A 4G modem and a LoRa module do not work at the same time, and neither do two LoRa modules.
Can I boot the system from an SSD?
Yes, the M.2 NVMe 2280 M-Key slot takes drives from 128 GB to 1 TB. Not every drive boots the system, so the manufacturer recommends the drives it has tested.
