How to extend the life of tips?
If you want to maximize the life of your tips, keep them clean by regularly removing solder residues with special sponges or brass cleaners . Avoid using excessively high temperatures. For leaded tin , the optimal temperature is around 300°C to 320°C, and for lead-free tin from 350°C to 365°C. Do not use sharp tools that can damage the coating of the tip. Additionally, to power the soldering iron for optimal tip performance, use a USB Type-C PD 65 W, 20 V / 3.25 A power supply or higher when using short tips. Store the tips in a dry place to prevent corrosion, and check their condition regularly, replacing if necessary.
