Kobra S1 Max: 350 mm on every axis and a chamber heated up to 65 °C
Anycubic Kobra S1 Max is an enclosed CoreXY 3D printer with a 350 x 350 x 350 mm build volume, 2.74 times larger than the Kobra S1 and Kobra S1 Combo. The hotend heats up to 350 °C, the bed to 120 °C and the chamber actively to 65 °C, so besides PLA and PETG you can print engineering materials, meaning plastics more resistant to heat and impact, such as ABS, ASA, PC or carbon fiber nylon, without replacing the hotend.
The printer arrives 95 % assembled. The manufacturer states that you can start your first print about 10 minutes after unpacking. The bed levels itself automatically before printing. The set does not include a color system, so you print with a single filament right away. You can add the ACE 2 Pro system for 4-color printing later.

The Kobra S1 Max combines a 350 x 350 x 350 mm build volume with active chamber heating up to 65 °C, which the manufacturer intends for engineering materials such as ABS, ASA, PC and PA. Keep in mind that the printer, measuring 502.7 x 483 x 584 mm, weighs 25.7 kg, so it needs a stable surface, and if space is limited, the Kobra S1 Combo will be a better choice.

Large models in one piece instead of gluing parts together
The 350 x 350 x 350 mm build volume fits large figurines, device enclosures, helmets and model parts that on a printer with a 250 mm build volume have to be split into pieces and glued together. The CoreXY design prints at a recommended speed of 300 mm/s, up to 600 mm/s, with acceleration up to 20,000 mm/s².

350 °C hotend, 120 °C bed and 65 °C chamber for engineering materials
The factory-installed 0.4 mm nozzle is made of hardened steel, and a spare 0.6 mm nozzle is included. The manufacturer states that such a nozzle lasts 6 times longer than a brass one, which matters with carbon fiber and glass fiber filaments that wear down the nozzle. A short feed path with hardened gears and a titanium hotend heat break reduce the risk of nozzle clogs.

The set does not include a color system, but the Kobra S1 Max is ready for the ACE 2 Pro. This system feeds up to four filaments and switches them automatically during printing, and it also dries filament at up to 65 °C and shows the temperature and humidity in the spool compartment.

From the box to your first print
You operate the printer from the touchscreen, from the Anycubic app or directly from a model slicing program, known as a slicer, which turns a 3D model into print head movement paths. The manufacturer recommends Anycubic Slicer Next and OrcaSlicer, which accept STL, OBJ and 3MF files.

Fun fact
Chamber heating does not always help
The Kobra S1 Max chamber is heated by a PTC heater, and two fans in the rear duct distribute the warm air. However, the manufacturer recommends not turning on heating with PLA, PETG and TPU, because in a warm chamber these filaments can soften, get stuck in the extruder and clog it. At a high chamber temperature, the activated carbon in the filter also absorbs odors less effectively.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Kobra S1 Max print in several colors?
Without add-ons it prints with a single filament. After adding one ACE 2 Pro unit it prints in 4 colors, and with four units and filament splitters in up to 16 colors in one model.
Can I connect the ACE Pro from my Kobra S1?
No. The Kobra S1 Max works only with the ACE 2 Pro. Components shared with the Kobra S1 series include, for example, the 4-in-1 filament splitter and the filament runout and jam detection module.
Do I need to turn on chamber heating with PLA?
No. The manufacturer recommends not turning on chamber heating with PLA, PETG and TPU. The heated chamber is intended for engineering materials such as ABS, ASA, PC and PA.
What are the dimensions and weight of the Kobra S1 Max?
The printer, measuring 502.7 x 483 x 584 mm, weighs about 25.7 kg. The package, measuring 583 x 560 x 693 mm, weighs 31 kg, which is 4 kg less than the Combo set with the ACE 2 Pro.
Which nozzles fit the Kobra S1 Max?
A 0.4 mm hardened steel nozzle is installed at the factory, and a spare 0.6 mm nozzle is included. The manufacturer also offers a 0.8 mm hardened steel nozzle and a 0.25 mm brass nozzle for fine details.
Does the printer work without the internet?
Yes. You can print from a USB flash drive or in LAN mode, in which the printer connects to a computer on the local network. The Ethernet port is used for a wired connection.
