How does OpenBuilds work?
OpenBuilds is an open initiative that brings together users from all over the world. They can freely download, modify and share with others the software and device designs that are possible to build using the OpenBuilds Modular Building System. This system consists of thousands of parts divided into categories (for example the V-Slots series of profiles) - every OpenBuilds construction is designed based on these parts. They are mutually compatible, so by having a set of parts, you can come up with a completely new device on your own. The parts store is physically based in the United States (as is the OpenBuilds management team), but the products available there are shipped to every country in the world. An integral part of OpenBuilds is a platform that connects users - where they can share their designs, report on the development process, or ask questions of more experienced people, and constantly work to improve the software and the builds they make.
What will you build with OpenBuilds?
OpenBuilds allows you to build a huge number of structures and machines, including those designed for various materials processing (metal, wood, plastic etc.) or 3D printing. In the offer you will find kits and parts necessary to assemble such devices and constructions as CNC milling machines and plotters, planners, 3D printers and accessories (housings, frames), carriages, linear guides or sliders for cameras and camcorders. OpenBuilds Modular Building System includes components such as aluminum profiles, rollers, slides, mounting plates, cutters, nuts, spacers, screws, belts, cogs, bearings, linear shafts, lasers, and electronic parts - motors, power supplies, switches, sensors, control modules, cables, and more. All parts are solidly made and made of durable materials resistant to time and mechanical damage, so you can be sure that the machines and other constructions created from them will work reliably.
