Original Prusa XL Critical Infrastructure Edition with two heads is a 3D printer with a toolchanger and a 360 x 360 x 360 mm build volume, without Wi-Fi circuitry. The mainboard has no Wi-Fi connectors or ESP Wi-Fi module, the printer ships without a camera, and you transfer print files on a USB drive.

The XL CIE combines multi-material printing with two heads and a mainboard from which the Wi-Fi connectors and wireless circuitry have been physically removed, not just disabled in software. Keep in mind that you transfer files only on USB drives, so with several printers plan how removable media circulate in your facility.

Several materials in one print without a wipe tower
Each head has its own filament loaded, so the toolchanger swaps heads in moments, without a lengthy material change in a single nozzle. With properly dried filament and wipe-to-infill, the XL prints with practically no waste, which on single-nozzle printers can exceed the weight of the model itself.
- Combining materials, for example PETG with PLA supports or PCCF with a cheaper infill
- Spool Join, meaning an automatic switch to the next spool when the current one runs out
- The Loadcell sensor measures the nozzle offset from the bed and ensures an even first layer

Large and precise prints across the entire bed
The bed consists of 16 individually controlled heating tiles, which limits deformation during heating, and unused tiles can be switched off. The manufacturer tuned the print profiles for 0.2 mm accuracy, so parts with screw holes fit together without adjustments.

The manufacturer tuned the XL print profiles so that you can design parts with 0.2 mm accuracy. When your design includes a hole for an M3 screw, you can rely on the part fitting without adjustments.

Which USB drive is included?
The package includes a certified 30 GB USB drive with hardware encryption and a numeric keypad, compatible with the printer. It is used for secure transfer of print files between the computer and the printer.
Is the printer ready to work right after unpacking?
The printer arrives assembled, but before the first start you install the heads and the display. The tools for installation and basic maintenance are included.
What are Letters of Volatility for?
They are documents that describe what data the printer stores and what is cleared when the power is switched off. They help your security team assess the device in audits and in document handling policies.
Do I need an enclosure for printing?
Not for all materials. PLA, PETG and some engineering materials, for example PCCF, print without an enclosure, while ABS, ASA, HIPS and PA require an enclosure with a filtration system.
What are the dimensions and weight of the XL CIE with two heads?
The two-head printer weighs 29.3 kg and measures 700 x 900 x 720 mm including the side spool holders and the top cover. The build volume is 360 x 360 x 360 mm.
Does the CIE edition require a cloud or filaments from one manufacturer?
