The Adafruit Pixel Shifter is designed to work with addressable LEDs such as the WS2811, WS2812, NeoPixel, SK6812 , and compatible solutions requiring 5V logic signals. The module eliminates problems associated with unstable operation of LED strips controlled directly by microcontrollers using 3.3V logic. The board includes a 5V step-up circuit , two signal buffers, and a signal inverter, allowing it to support both standard and less common LED drivers .

The output side provides D5 (5 V data), !D5 (5 V inverted data), and C5 (5 V clock) signals. This allows the module to work with both LED strips using a single data line and solutions requiring an additional clock signal. Pixel Shifter is designed for microcontrollers using 3.3 V logic . The module is compatible with RP2040, ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, SAMD, Raspberry Pi , and many other platforms equipped with digital outputs. It is compatible with popular addressable NeoPixel, WS2812B, WS2811, SK6812, DotStar (SK9822) LEDs and drivers requiring an inverted signal such as the TM1814 .
