Door and window opening sensor without a gateway
Sonoff DW2-WiFi is a door and window opening sensor that connects directly to a 2.4 GHz WiFi network, so it does not need a gateway to work. When the magnet moves more than 20 mm away from the transmitter, the eWeLink app sends a notification to your phone.
You can browse the opening history from the last 3 months in the app and share the sensor with other members of your household. Attach the transmitter and the magnet with 3M tape, leaving a gap of less than 5 mm when the door is closed. When the batteries start to run low, the app will send a warning.

Is it a good choice for you?
Good choice if:
- you want door opening notifications without buying a gateway
- you are starting with a smart home and only have a WiFi router
- you want to check the opening history of a window or front door
Consider another option if:
- you already have a ZigBee gateway: choose the Sonoff SNZB-04P sensor
Fun fact
WiFi for operation, Bluetooth for pairing
Although the DW2-WiFi sends notifications over WiFi, you add it to the eWeLink app via Bluetooth. You can enable pairing mode by holding down the transmitter button with a pin for 5 s.
