Carbon fiber textured plate for the Snapmaker U1
Graphic Effect Steel Plate is a spring steel build plate with a PET film (polyethylene terephthalate) that imprints a carbon fiber twill pattern on the bottom of your prints. You place it on the magnetic heated bed of the Snapmaker U1, aligned with the platform edges.
The carbon effect shows best on display models and decorative parts made of PLA, and the manufacturer also recommends TPU with a hardness of 85A and 90A. You print both materials without glue, and once cooled the print comes off easily and leaves no residue.

Fun fact
A PET surface instead of PEI
Unlike the PEI plates for the Snapmaker U1, the surface of the Graphic Effect plate is a PET film, i.e. polyethylene terephthalate. Its carbon fiber twill texture is transferred to the bottom of the print, which is why the manufacturer recommends printing without glue. The plate also has a 1 mm spring steel core and operates at bed temperatures below 80 °C.

Frequently asked questions
Which filaments can I print on the Graphic Effect plate?
The manufacturer recommends PLA and TPU with a hardness of 85A and 90A, both without glue. PLA-CF, PLA-GF, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC, PA and PET-CF are not recommended, as they may not adhere well enough.
Why is glue not used on this plate?
Glue fills the carbon texture, smooths it out and spoils the transfer effect on the bottom of the print. That is why the manufacturer recommends printing without glue, so that the pattern on the bottom of the model stays clear.
How hot can I heat the bed?
The maximum operating temperature of the Graphic Effect plate is below 80 °C. The manufacturer recommends from 25 °C to 70 °C for PLA and from 25 °C to 60 °C for TPU.
