Smooth PEI plate for the Snapmaker U1 3D printer
PEI Steel Plate (Smooth) is a flexible spring steel build plate with a smooth, matte PEI coating that gives prints from the Snapmaker U1 3D printer an even, clean bottom surface. You place the plate on the magnetic heated bed of the printer, aligned with the edges of the platform.
The smooth surface suits flat-based models meant to look uniform, and the PEI coating gives good first-layer adhesion. Once cooled, flex the plate and the print comes off without tools.
- You print PLA, PLA-CF and PLA-GF without glue
- For PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PC, PA and PVA, a glue stick or liquid glue is recommended

The printer recognizes the plate type itself
When you select the plate type in Snapmaker Orca version 2.3.1 or later, the information is saved in the print file. The U1 printer with firmware version 1.3.0 or later reads it and automatically sets a Z offset of -0.07 mm, so the first layer comes out even. The software also suggests the default bed temperature and a list of compatible filaments for the selected plate.

Frequently asked questions
When should I choose the smooth PEI plate instead of the textured one?
The smooth plate gives an even, matte bottom surface that suits flat-based models. The textured plate supplied with the U1 gives print bottoms a fine, even texture.
Do I need glue on this plate?
The manufacturer recommends only PLA, PLA-CF and PLA-GF without glue. For PETG, TPU, ABS, ASA, PC, PA and PVA apply a glue stick or liquid glue, as without it the print may bond too strongly and damage the PEI coating.
Can I remove prints with a scraper?
No. The manufacturer advises against cleaning the smooth PEI plate or removing prints from it with a scraper, as this may damage the coating. After cooling, simply take the plate out and flex it slightly to release the print.

30 days to return, without giving a reason
