Product Description: SGP30 Gas Sensor - VOC / eCO2 - STEMMA QT / Qwiic - Adafruit 3709
SGP30gas sensoris designed to monitor indoorair quality. It monitors the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOC) andH2present in the air. By measurement it returns TVOC (Total Volatile Organic Compound) reading and carbon dioxide equivalent eCO2 reading. The measurement range for eCO2 concentration isfrom 400 ppm to 60000 ppm. The TVOC measurement range is from0 ppb to 60000 ppb.Sensoris equipped withSTEMMA QT / Qwiiccompatible connectors, with which it can be connected to a microcontroller module such as Arduino.
Product compatible with Arduino
Auser guideandlibraryfor Arduino IDE environment is available on the manufacturer's website, which can be downloaded from GitHub.
Wiring diagram and pinout description of gas sensor from Adafruit
The gas sensor can be connected in two ways: using goldpin connectors included in the kit (which should be soldered to the module beforehand) or through the built-in STEMMA QT connector. Example connection is made using STEMMA QT connectors andMetro board, which is equivalent to Arduino. Connect particular pins according to description below:
- VIN- power supply pin from 3 V to 5 V
- 1V8- power supply pin 1,8 V
- GND- chip ground pin
- SCL- I2C communication interface clock pin
- SDA- I2C communication interface data line pin
