Aqara W500: floor heating thermostat with Zigbee, Thread and Matter
Aqara Floor Heating Thermostat W500 is a wall-mounted thermostat for electric and water underfloor heating that supports Zigbee, Thread and the Matter standard. Via Matter it works with Apple Home and Home Assistant, it has a built-in temperature and humidity sensor, and the NTC floor sensor in the box protects the floor against overheating.
The thermostat controls resistive loads up to 16 A and 3600 W at 230 V, measures energy consumption and follows a weekly schedule in which you can set up to 7 periods with different temperatures. You change the Home, Away, Relax, Sleep and Vacation presets with the buttons on the panel or in the app.

- Temperature hysteresis from ±0.5 °C to ±3 °C, which reduces frequent switching of the heating
- Sensor calibration from -5 °C to 5 °C in 0.5 °C steps

Is it a good choice for you?
A good choice if:
- you have electric underfloor heating or a water system with NC actuators and want to control it from your phone
- you are building a smart home on Matter, for example in Apple Home or Home Assistant
- you want to track heating energy consumption and set a weekly schedule

Fun fact
A manual change does not break the schedule
When the schedule is running and you change the temperature manually, the W500 keeps the new setting for 2 hours by default and then returns to the programme on its own. You can change the length of this break in the Aqara Home app when the thermostat works in Zigbee mode. The schedule covers all 7 days of the week, and a single schedule has up to 7 periods, each lasting at least 15 minutes.

Frequently asked questions
What do I need to control the Aqara W500 from my phone?
The Aqara Home app requires a compatible Aqara hub within range of the thermostat. Via Matter you can add the W500 to, for example, Apple Home or Home Assistant if you have a Matter-compatible Thread border router.
Which floor sensor does the W500 support?
An NTC sensor is included, and the thermostat supports NTC sensors with a resistance of 10, 50 or 100 kΩ at 25 °C. When the sensor is connected, the thermostat enables floor overheating protection by default and then switches off the heating.
Does the W500 thermostat detect an open window?
Yes. When the temperature drops by 2 °C within 3 minutes, the thermostat pauses heating for 30 minutes. With the Aqara Door and Window Sensor the pause starts when the window has been open for more than 3 minutes.

30 days to return, without giving a reason
