Remote controlled robot - what is it?
Although there is no clear definition of a remote-controlled robot, it is usually assumed to be at least a partially autonomous device (often equipped with artificial intelligence) that can carry out user commands and move according to user instructions given remotely, such as a remote control or a telephone. It is not uncommon for different types of RC vehicles and remote-controlled machine models to fall into this category. Usually, remote-controlled robots are defined as robots that execute user commands in real or near real time (as opposed to devices where the commands are first entered into the program so that the robot can execute them after completing the encoding of a given behaviour sequence).
Types of remote-controlled robots
Among the remote-controlled robots you can find practically all kinds and forms that come to mind. For example, there are mobile models of vehicles, boats and flying machines, humanoid and walking robots, animal robots or devices in very abstract shapes, such as mini sumo robots. Robots are often able not only to move in different directions, but also to jump, rotate, move their limbs and perform other user commands (for example, shine, make different noises, dance, lift objects or imitate the behaviour of living creatures). Some models can not only be controlled in real time, but also programmed to perform specific behaviour sequences.
How can you control the robot?
Currently on the market you can find, among other things, robots on the remote control, such as Hexbug toys that imitate the appearance and behavior of various insects. Another type of robot is a phone-controlled robot, where you have to find the right application on your hardware and the controlled device connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. In this way you can control, for example, robots fighting mini sumo from Totem Maker. Any robot controlled by a tablet works in a similar way (the only difference is the possible compatibility of the application with the device). This is a very practical way of controlling the robot, as a smartphone or tablet is usually located in every home, and it is also suitable not only for controlling the robot in real time, but also for programming it.
Which remote control robots can you find in this section?
We offer a wide range of remote-controlled robots in our shop. You will find here, among others, robots for remote control, devices controlled with a special pad or joystick, or robots controlled from an application installed on your phone or tablet. Many of the devices available in our range are sold in sets designed for self-assembly. Such a solution is an excellent proposal for people who want to provide themselves or their children with an opportunity to play while learning about robotics, electronics and mechanics. You'll also find interesting offers for pet owners, like the remote-controlled robotic remote control mouse, which is sure to be of interest to domestic cats. We've also got robots that can interact with other people of their kind - great for playing and learning in a larger group.
