Elegoo on the 3D printing market
Elegoo was founded in 2015 with an ambitious goal: to design and sell electronic and structural kits that would enable users to create practical solutions combining hardware with structural housing. The name "Elegoo" combines "ELE" for open-source electronics and "GOO," a reference to the concept of "googol," the number one followed by a hundred zeros—symbolizing the vast potential of printable structures. Since its launch, the brand has expanded its portfolio to include 3D printers, laser engravers, and STEM (educational and creative) kits, gaining an international reputation in the field of smart manufacturing.
Elegoo Neptune 4
Elegoo Neptune 4 printers are FDM models equipped with a range of technical solutions that distinguish them in the desktop segment. They feature pre-installed Klipper software, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, enabling high print speeds of up to 500 mm/s. The design is based on dual Z-axis motors and POM V-guide guides, ensuring stable movement and reducing vibration. Automatic table leveling systems allow for precise work surface preparation, while input shaping and pressure advance functions reduce phenomena such as resonance and material feed delays. An extensive cooling system, including additional fans, ensures uniform curing of subsequent layers and minimizes issues with print deformation.
Elegoo Max, Elegoo Plus and basic version
The Elegoo Max, Elegoo Plus, and the basic version differ primarily in their build area and dimensions. The Neptune 4 Max offers a build area of 420 x 420 x 480 mm and is suitable for creating enclosures, props, and full-size prototypes. However, such a large build area means slower heatup and requires adequate space for the device. The Neptune 4 Plus, with a build area of 320 x 320 x 385 mm, is an intermediate variant that still allows for printing large models, such as cosplay elements or architectural models, without taking up as much space as the Max. This model retains all the technical features of the series, including fast printing with the Klipper and automatic leveling at 121 points. The basic Neptune 4 , with a build area of 225 x 225 x 265 mm, is sufficient for everyday projects, prototyping smaller parts, and utility prints for home and workshop use. While maintaining the same fast printing technologies, quiet operation and precise cooling, it is the easiest to place on a desk and the most economical to operate.
