The M5Stack Tab5 Keyboard is an input extension designed for the Tab5 device , providing convenient control using physical keys . The keyboard utilizes a 14 x 5 layout and supports multiple simultaneous keystrokes, making it ideal for text entry, command management, and terminal applications. The module is powered by an STM32F030C8T6 microcontroller , which scans the keyboard matrix and communicates with the host device. The built-in software supports three operating modes : Normal, HID, and Character, allowing you to customize the keyboard's operation to suit various scenarios. The module communicates with the Tab5 via an I2C interface , and an independent INT interrupt line ensures low-latency event reporting. Two WS2812E RGB LEDs can be used to provide full-color status indication.
