The M5Stack Base Dual 16340 is a power supply module designed to expand the mobility of M5Stack devices. The base houses two 16340 batteries, each with a capacity of 700 mAh , operating in parallel and providing a total capacity of 1400 mAh. The INA226 chip allows monitoring of voltage, current, and power consumption via the I2C bus, while the DW01A fuse protects the cells during operation . The module also features overcurrent and reverse polarity protection, as well as a sliding power switch . Two HY2.0-4P interfaces provide access to GPIO and UART and allow for the connection of additional sensors , modules, and peripherals.

Pinout and compatibility of the Base Dual 16340 module with M5Stack
The Base Dual 16340 uses a 30-pin M5-Bus connector , which provides power, communication, and battery monitoring lines. The bus provides the INA_SDA and INA_SCL lines for the INA226 chip, RXD and TXD, 3.3V and 5V power supplies, BAT, and HPWR lines, among other things. This allows the base to be integrated with compatible M5Stack controllers using the M5-Bus system. Two Grove HY2.0-4P connectors are also available. PORT.B provides GND, 5V and the PORT.B OUTPUT and PORT.B INPUT lines, while PORT.C provides GND, 5V, and the TXD and RXD serial communication lines. This solution allows you to simultaneously power the device and expand the project with additional sensors or peripheral modules without the need for an additional connection board. Before connecting to a specific M5Stack controller, consider the M5-Bus pins used by the project to avoid conflicts between modules.
Two Grove interfaces provide access to GPIO and UART and allow you to connect additional sensors, modules and peripherals.
