U1 filament sensor: automatic print pause
The Filament Runout Sensor Kit is the original Snapmaker U1 extruder sensor that monitors filament feeding in real time and detects runout, jamming or depletion. It then automatically pauses the print and saves the progress so the print is not lost.
The sensor is useful for long unattended prints, because it reduces wasted time and material. Two screws are included, and the replacement in the extruder takes about 25 minutes with H1.5 and H2.0 keys.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the filament sensor in the Snapmaker U1?
The sensor is inside the toolhead extruder. For the replacement you take the toolhead off its holder, remove the extruder and the bearing mount, and then undo the two sensor screws with an H1.5 key.
What happens when the sensor detects filament runout?
The printer automatically pauses the print and saves its progress. After you load new filament, you can continue the print without starting over.
