It offers individual pixel control, brightness adjustment, text scrolling, and image rotation by 0°, 90°, 180°, and 270° . The module uses an STM32G031G8U6 microcontroller and communicates via UART , enabling daisy-chaining of M5Stack Chain components.

The M5Stack Chain Mono is a compact display module equipped with 64 white LEDs arranged in an 8x8 matrix . It allows you to control individual pixels, store groups of pixels, and quickly refresh the entire screen using an 8-byte frame buffer. Built-in ASCII character support allows you to display letters, numbers, and text messages, while scrolling, brightness adjustment, and image orientation functions facilitate the creation of clear interfaces and lighting effects. The module is powered by an STM32G031G8U6 , with data transmission via UART at 115,200 bps. Two HY2.0-4P connectors allow you to integrate Chain Mono into extended M5Stack Chain sets and connect it to additional modules.

M5Stack Chain Mono Module Compatibility and Programming
Chain Mono was designed as part of the M5Stack Chain ecosystem and can be connected to other modules in the series using HY2.0-4P interfaces and UART daisy-chain communication. The manufacturer provides the M5Chain library for Arduino , This allows the module to be used in projects created in the popular Arduino environment, and the documentation also includes an example of Chain Mono operation. Furthermore, open resources are available for the internal firmware and a description of the communication protocol, making it easier to create your own applications and integrate the matrix with more complex embedded systems.
The ability to connect subsequent Chain series elements facilitates the construction of larger, interactive installations.
The kit includes a Chain Bridge that allows you to easily connect adjacent components using Grove connectors.
