Description of product: SparkFun ITG-3200 3-axis digital I2C gyroscope
Sensor ITG-3200 allows for the measurement of angular velocity in three axes: X,Y,Z in the range of ± 2 °/secwith a resolution of16 bits. The module is powered with the voltage in the range from 2.1 to 3.6 V. For communication with the central unit, it uses the popularI2C bus(TWI) which can operate at speeds up to 400 MHz. In addition, the system is equipped with a digital thermometer.
The product is compatible with Arduino
3-axis digital gyroscope.
Since the maximum voltage with which the system works, is 3.4 V, for working with Arduino, needed is a voltage converter. The exceptions are the modules operating with voltages of 3.3 V, for example,Arduino Pro Mini 328 - 3.3 V/8 MHz.
The sensor has seven pins for the installation of the goldpin straps - pitch of 2.54 mm (not included). Soldered connectors provide the connection of the sensor viawires or direct attachment to the breadboard.
|VCC||The supply voltage from 2.1 V to 3.6 V.|
|GND||The groundof the system.|
|VIO||Reference voltage of the high status on the pins of the I2C bus.|
|INT||The external interrupt's output - open drain (details indocumentation) .|
|CLK||The sync output. Not used, should be connected to ground (e.g. creating a jumper on the back of the board).|
|SDA||The data line of the I2C bus (TWI).|
|SCL||The clock line of the I2C bus (TWI).|
Communication - I2C bus
The sensor communicates digitally via the two-wire I2C bus (TWI). Jumper on the front of the board, marked as AD0 through a connection with GND or VCC to change the bus address. By default, it is connected to VCC which sets the address to the value of 0x69.
The sensor is also frequency - synchronization CLK input, if not used, it must be connected to ground (e.g. creating a jumper on the back of the board).
