The SenseCAP Solar Node P1-Pro from Seeedstudio is a complete communication node designed for creating and expanding field LoRa MeshCore networks. The device utilizes an energy-efficient nRF52840 microcontroller, an SX1262 radio module, and an L76K GNSS receiver supporting GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo. Pre-installed MeshCore Repeater software allows for quick deployment as a multi-hop communication hub. Power is provided by a 5W solar panel and four 18650 batteries , and a Grove interface allows for expansion with additional devices. The housing is IPX6 rated, making the design suitable for long-term outdoor installations.

MeshCore - a decentralized LoRa network without internet access
MeshCore is an open-source communication system that uses LoRa to create independent radio networks in which messages can be relayed between nodes. SenseCAP The Solar Node P1-Pro comes with pre-installed Repeater firmware , so its primary function is receiving and forwarding appropriate packets, allowing for increased range and the creation of a multi-hop MeshCore infrastructure. The Repeater doesn't need to retransmit every received packet, and its operation can be managed according to the mechanisms provided by the MeshCore platform. In a practical network, the Solar Node can be placed in a high-elevation location and act as a permanent intermediary point between Companion devices. This allows for the creation of an extensive communication infrastructure without a cellular provider, Wi-Fi, or a fixed power connection . MeshCore also provides tools for configuring and updating the software of devices compatible with the platform.
The communication range between two devices can reach 8-9 km in open terrain.
