How to properly install 5mm LEDs?
Installing 5mm LEDs is very simple, but requires maintaining correct polarity. The longer pin is the anode (positive) , and the shorter pin is the cathode (negative) . Always connect diodes with a current-limiting resistor to avoid damage—typical values range from 220Ω to 1kΩ , depending on the supply voltage . The diodes can be mounted directly on a breadboard or soldered to a PCB in final designs. Ensure the voltage and current match the diode's color specifications to ensure long life and stable operation in the circuit.
