The Milesight UG56-L08GL is a high-performance, 8-channel LoRaWAN gateway designed for reliable indoor operation. Thanks to the modern Semtech SX1302 chip and a quad-core Cortex-A35 processor, the device can simultaneously support up to 2,000 end nodes . A unique feature of this model is its compact design, which allows for installation in small control cabinets while maintaining full industrial functionality. The gateway supports multiple data transmission methods (backhaul), including 4G LTE, WiFi, and Ethernet , ensuring continuous connection even in the event of a network failure. An integrated Network Server and support for MQTT, HTTP, and BACnet protocols make the UG56 ready for the most demanding IoT and BMS ecosystems.

With the Listen Before Talk (LBT) feature, the device intelligently manages channels, minimizing packet collisions and optimizing the transmission environment for all connected sensors.

The UG56‑L08GL is designed to seamlessly support over 2,000 LoRaWAN devices , including sensors, meters, control modules, and other IoT components. The gateway deeply integrates with leading network servers and supports interoperability with solutions such as The Things Stack, ChirpStack, Actility, AWS IoT, and others . Support for standard network protocols (MQTT, HTTP/S, TCP/UDP) allows for easy connection to SCADA systems, IoT platforms, and custom applications without the need for additional bridges or converters.
Integration, management and modern applications
The Milesight UG56 supports DeviceHub and Milesight IoT Cloud platforms, enabling remote monitoring of the gateway's status and firmware updates (FUOTA). Support for BACnet and Modbus allows data from wireless sensors to be transmitted in real time to building automation systems (BMS). Developers can use the Python SDK and Node‑RED to create custom rules, integrations, and automation without having to write low‑level code.
