What is LoRa?

LoRa (Long Range) and LoRa WAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a long-range wireless communication system that is characterized by low energy consumption. It finds its application mainly in industry and IoT (Internet of Things) projects. Data in this communication system can be transmitted over distances of a maximum of 10 km to 15 km. Data transmission rates in the LoRa system are quite low and range from 0.3 kb / s to 37.5 kb / s. This speed is sufficient to transmit measurement data from sensors or control signals. LoRa is designed for applications where delays can be tolerated.
