A robot arm and an AI computer ready to work out of the box
reBot Arm B601-DM with Jetson Orin is an assembled 6+1 DoF robot arm, meaning six joints and a gripper, bundled with an AI computer and a power supply. The computer is a reComputer J3011 with an Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano 8 GB module, and the arm power supply is rated 24 V / 14.6 A. This way you do not have to put hardware together from several sources.
The arm has a reach of 767 mm, lifts up to 1.5 kg and has a positioning repeatability of 0.2 mm. It is driven by seven Damiao motors, and the whole project is open: the manufacturer publishes the parts list, drawings and software. It is the same manipulator you will find as the standalone reBot Arm B601-DM, complemented by a computer and a 24 V / 350 W power supply.

The Jetson controls the arm over USB
You connect the arm to the reComputer J3011 through a USB to CAN adapter, meaning a converter from USB to the CAN bus over which the motors exchange data with the controller. You install the MotorBridge driver with a single command, and in the browser you configure the motor parameters, check the arm status and set the zero position.
The computer has a Jetson Orin Nano 8 GB module with a 6-core Arm Cortex-A78AE processor and an Ampere GPU with 1024 cores, a 128 GB SSD with the JetPack system, meaning Nvidia software for Jetson modules, WiFi, Bluetooth, 4 USB 3.2 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, an Ethernet port and 2 CSI camera connectors. You can raise the performance of 40 TOPS, meaning 40 trillion AI operations per second, to 67 TOPS if you update the system to JetPack 6.2 yourself and enable Super mode.

Fun fact
DM in the name stands for Damiao motors
The reBot Arm project comes in two versions with the same appearance: the B601-DM with Damiao motors and the B601-RS with RobStride motors. The manufacturer provides the files for both versions, including sheet metal and 3D-printed parts and a bill of materials with the size of every screw.
Frequently asked questions
What is included in the kit besides the robot arm itself?
Besides the assembled arm with a gripper, the kit includes a reComputer J3011 computer with a Jetson Orin Nano 8 GB module, a 128 GB SSD and a 12 V power supply, as well as a 24 V / 14.6 A arm power supply with power cords.
Is a camera included in the kit?
No. For grasping with machine vision you need a separate RGB-D depth camera or a USB camera. The computer also has 2 CSI camera connectors.
How do I connect the robot arm to the Jetson computer?
The arm connects to the computer through a USB to CAN adapter plugged into a USB port. On the Jetson you install the MotorBridge driver with the pip command, and the arm shows up in the system as a serial port.
What software does it work with?
The arm supports ROS 1 and ROS 2 with MoveIt, Python, LeRobot, Isaac Sim and the Pinocchio library for kinematics calculations. The code and examples are available in the open project repository.
Do I need to calibrate the arm?
With the assembled version, you do not have to write the motor IDs or calibrate them from scratch. Before first controlling the arm, you only set the zero position in the MotorBridge program.
Can I control the arm from a Windows or macOS computer?
Yes, MotorBridge works on Windows, Ubuntu and macOS. To run the examples, the manufacturer recommends Ubuntu 24.04 on a physical computer, because a virtual machine is not powerful enough.
