Product description: Arduino Modulino Latch Relay - bistable relay module - Qwiic - ABX00138
The Modulino Latch Relay is part of a series of ready-made Arduino Modulino modules that simplify the construction of interactive projects without the need to design circuits from scratch. The module is equipped with a bistable relay , which, after switching , retains its state even when not continuously powered . This solution reduces power consumption and is suitable for systems where switching occurs periodically. Communication with the main board is handled by an STM32C011F4 microcontroller , which controls the relay coils and provides operation via the I2C bus. The Modulino Latch Relay can switch DC loads up to 30 V DC and 2 A. The module is not designed to operate with mains voltage or AC loads.
Main features
- Bistable relay : maintains state without continuous coil power supply
- DC load control : supports voltages up to 30 V DC and currents up to 2 A
- I2C communication : easy integration with Arduino boards and other controllers
- Qwiic connectors : quick connection without soldering
- COM, NO and NC contacts : can operate as a normally open or normally closed circuit
- Programmable I2C address : possibility of operating several modules on one bus
- Operating voltage 3.3 V : Qwiic compliant
- Arduino and MicroPython support : support for the manufacturer's official libraries
- Compact dimensions : small board for automation and IoT projects
Modulino Latch Relay Pinouts, Connectivity and Compatibility
The module communicates via the I2C bus, accessible via Qwiic connectors and soldered SDA and SCL pins. The module is powered by 3.3V , supplied via a Qwiic cable or a 3V3 pin. Two Qwiic connectors allow you to connect multiple Modulino modules in a single chain , simplifying project expansion without additional wiring. The COM, NO, and NC relay contacts are used to control the load. COM connects to the load's power source, NO closes the circuit when the relay is activated, and NC remains connected in the idle state. The Modulino Latch Relay is compatible with Arduino UNO R4 WiFi, Arduino UNO Q, Nano ESP32, Nano RP2040 Connect, Nano 33 IoT, Nano 33 BLE, Nano 33 BLE Sense, and Nano Matter, among others.

It can control DC LED lighting, pumps, fans, electric locks, alarm sirens, motors and other devices within the parameters of 30 V DC and 2 A.
Programming the Arduino Modulino Latch Relay
The Modulino Latch Relay can be programmed in the Arduino IDE using the official Arduino Modulino library . The library provides simple functions such as set() , reset() , and getStatus() , which allow you to turn the relay on, off, and read its status. This allows you to add load control to your project with just a few lines of code. The module also supports MicroPython , making it easier to learn programming and develop rapid prototypes. MicroPython includes the on() , off() , and is_on methods, making it suitable for both education and for building simple home automation systems, pump controllers, DC lighting, and timers.
