The SparkFun USB Type-C Soft Power Switch is a power switch that works like a passive button, but can be controlled via software. The button works similarly to a laptop power button: a single press turns the system on, and a second press (via a microcontroller) can turn it off. If problems occur, simply hold the button for about 10 seconds to force the system to shut down . The switch is ideal for Thing Plus-based projects and other devices where you need an easy way to control the power supply. It offers two USB Type-C connectors, as well as a version with 2 mm JST connectors for connecting a battery. It features a robust, digital design based on Texas Instruments circuits and provides very low power consumption in standby mode, which translates into energy savings in battery-powered devices. Equipped with LEDs to indicate the power status (input and output), as well as a 2 A fuse, providing protection against overloads.
