PIR motion sensor with adjustable range
Joy-IT SBC-PIR is a PIR motion sensor with a BIS0001 chip and a Fresnel lens that detects motion within a 120° angle at a distance of up to 6 m, and you set the range with a potentiometer. After detecting motion, the SIG output stays high for 3 seconds and then returns to low. The sensor works with a voltage from 3 V to 5 V, so you can connect it without a level converter.

Frequently asked questions
How do I change the sensor range?
You set the range with the potentiometer on the board, turning it with a Phillips screwdriver. Turning it clockwise increases the sensitivity and turning it counterclockwise decreases it.
How long is the signal high?
After detecting motion, the SIG output is high for 3 seconds and then returns to low. You can read this state with an ordinary digital input.
Can I connect it to 3.3 V?
Yes, the sensor works with a voltage from 3 V to 5 V. You can therefore connect it to a Raspberry Pi, Pico and Arduino without an additional level converter.
