Thin-film pressure sensor up to 2 kg
Joy-IT SEN-Pressure02 is a thin-film pressure sensor up to 2 kg with a waterproof strip less than 0.25 mm thick and a board with an analog output. When you press the sensing area, the resistance of the sensor changes, and so does the voltage on the S output. You read it with an Arduino analog input, or with a Raspberry Pi through an ADC converter.

Fun fact
The strip measures only at its end
The sensor measures 75 x 20 x 9 mm, but only the round area 7.5 mm in diameter at its end measures pressure. You can route the rest of the strip through a tight space, for example under the foot of a device.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect it to an Arduino?
Yes, you connect the analog output S to the Arduino A0 input, and the power to 5 V and ground. The manufacturer provides example code that reads the sensor value every 2 seconds.
Does it work with a Raspberry Pi?
Yes, but the Raspberry Pi has no analog inputs, so you need an ADC converter. In the manual, the manufacturer shows the connection through a converter on the I2C bus.
Is the sensor waterproof?
The manufacturer states that the sensor strip is waterproof and resistant to electrostatic discharge and magnetic interference. The electronics board is not described as waterproof.
