Product description: RAK10701-Plus - field meter for LoRaWAN - RAK Wireless 215029
The RAK10701-Plus is a professional field meter designed for deploying, testing, and optimizing LoRaWAN networks . It enables comprehensive analysis of radio transmission parameters both outdoors and indoors, facilitating the assessment of actual network coverage. It displays real-time RSSI, SNR, gateway information, packet loss, and location data , allowing you to quickly identify areas with weaker signal quality. The RAK10701-Plus operates standalone , eliminating the need for a smartphone or computer during measurements. A TFT LCD touchscreen, built-in 3200 mAh battery, and USB Type-C charging make the device ideal for field use. Compatibility with popular frameworks such as TTN, ChirpStack, AWS IoT Core for LoRaWAN, and WisGateOS 2 with built-in LNS is an additional advantage.

RAK10701-Plus is a solution designed for comprehensive analysis of LoRaWAN networks, both internal and external.

How does the RAK10701-Plus LoRaWAN tester work?
The RAK10701-Plus acts as a LoRaWAN terminal device , which, at predetermined intervals, sends uplink packets containing test data and information about the GPS location or tag assigned to a given measurement point. The packets are received by one or more LoRaWAN gateways and then forwarded to the LNS network server. This allows you to analyze not only the presence of coverage, but also the actual quality of radio communication at a specific location . If the infrastructure includes a RAK gateway with WisGateOS 2 and the Field Test Data Processor extension, the data is processed locally. In this mode, the device can display uplink and downlink parameters, RSSI values, SNR, packet loss rate, and gateway information . When the extension is unavailable, The meter can operate in a simplified LinkCheck mode, where analysis is limited to basic network responses. The RAK10701-Plus operates by comparing the transmission quality between the device and the LoRaWAN infrastructure in real-world conditions. The built-in display allows viewing of current and historical data, and saving the results along with the location allows for the creation of CSV reports and coverage maps. This solution significantly simplifies gateway installation site selection, connection stability assessment, and optimization of the entire LoRaWAN network before deploying the system in the target environment.
