Product description: Home Assistant Yellow Standard Kit - intelligent switchboard - ZigBee / Thread - Nabu Casa YELLOW-KIT-STD
Raise the standard of your smart home with the Home Assistant Yellow control unit! This intelligent system allows you to easily build advanced home automation on the Home Assistant platform. It allows you to integrate thousands of devices in one place, so you don't have to use several applications - control all your Smart Home devices with Home Assistant. Home Assistant Yellow has a built-in ZigBee and Thread system, which allows you to add almost any device supporting these standards to your smart home system. The control unit stores data locally , so it is completely safe. Home Assistant Yellow requires Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 / Compute Module 5 (not included) to work properly. The Yellow version also supports M.2 Key M drives in size 2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280. The whole thing has been enclosed in a transparent housing, with access to connectors and buttons. The set also includes a radiator, thermally conductive tapes and a suitable power supply.
Open hardware platform
A lot of time and resources have gone into perfecting the Home Assistant products. The company wants others to see the work and create their own great smart home products. For this reason, the Nabu Casa team is making the Home Assistant Yellow schematics available as open source. Examine the Home Assistant Yellow board and check out the source files .
Works with Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4)
The Home Assistant Yellow smart home control unit requires the use of a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (CM4) minicomputer, which is not included in the set, it must be purchased separately. A board with at least 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of eMMC memory is required. Please note that the Lite versions of this board do not have built-in Flash memory, in which case an NVMe SSD drive should be used. Some users have reported incorrect operation of these drives with Home Assistant Yellow.

The device requires a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 to work properly.

Wide compatibility
The Home Assistant Yellow central unit allows for integration with thousands of home automation platforms, which enables cooperation with a wide range of smart devices - from lighting, through heating, to security systems. Additionally, the built-in ZigBee and Thread communication system allows for integration with even more Smart Home devices. If you already use devices based on Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings or Amazon Alexa systems, you can easily transfer their data to Home Assistant and manage them using a single application.
Data security
The Home Assistant platform places particular emphasis on protecting user data and privacy. Unlike many other Smart Home solutions that rely on the cloud, Home Assistant Yellow stores data locally, which significantly reduces the risk of data leakage or unauthorized access. Regular updates also provide protection against new threats and security holes, which is crucial in the rapidly evolving world of cybercrime.
