Product description: Grove - module with NFC tag
Module based on M24LR64E-R chip equipped with 64-bit unique identifier and64-KbitEEPROM memorycommunicatingwirelessly in 13.56 MHz band. The module complies with ISO15693 andISO18000-3standards. The device communicates via the I2C interface and operates at 3.3and 5 V.Thanks to the Grove connector, it is possible to directly connect the module to theGrove Base Shield v2overlay. The module is equipped with an antenna so it can communicate within a range of 2 cm.
Product compatible with Arduino The manufacturer has prepared auser guide witha sample code. |
What is NFC and how does the tag work?
NFC (Near Field Communications) is a system of communication between devices that are very close to each other (up to 20 cm). The interface does not require authentication, it is an RFID extension focused primarily on data exchange in mobile phones, e.g. in order to make a quick payment. The module can read so-called RFID tags, i.e. passive devices, which allow to run commands, shortcuts or macros on active devices such as smartphones with NFC function. Built-in antenna allows for communication within a range of up to 2 cm even through non-metallic covers or housings.
Connecting Grove module with NFC tag
The module is equipped with a Grove connector so it can be directly connected to Arduinobymeans of Grove BaseShield v2overlaywithoutthe need for additional wires and soldering. The device communicates through the I2C interface and works with 3.3 and 5 V.
