8K resolution in Khadas VIM3
KODI fans will be interested to know that Khadas VIM3 is compatible withCoreELECoperating system and is able to display 8K image resolution at 30 frames per second.
Communication in Khadas VIM3
The minicomputer has basic communication interfaces that can be found in PCs. The user has it at his disposal:
- two USB A+USB type Cconnectors, under which you can connect e.g. a mouse, a keyboard or a flash drive. If it turns out that there are too few sockets, you can increase their number usingan external USB HUB.
- Ethernet Gigabit socket, i.e. the possibility of direct connection to the LAN.
- WiFi module- allows for communication with802.11b/g/n/acwireless network.
- Bluetooth 5.0 module- enables data transmission via a popular interface.
- GPIO x 40 pin-general purpose outputs/inputs that can be used to operate LEDs, buttons, motor controllers. Among them there are pins supporting interfaces: I2C, I2S, SPDIF, UART, PWM, ADC, ISO7816, IOs.
- microSD slot- microSD memory card slot where the operating system can be installed.
- HDMI connector- it transmits the image to the monitor.
- M.2 disk slot- enables connecting fast M.2 SSDs
What is needed to run Khadas minicomputer?
- Power supply with USB plug type C- from 5 V to 20 V (recommended 5 V) with current capacity 2 A
- HDMI cable- to connect a device with a monitor
- Mouse and keyboard- to control and enter data into the device
Khadas VIM3 power supply
The system uses aUSB type Cconnector as its power source. The manufacturer recommends that the voltage given on the connector should be 5.0 V, while the current capacity of the power supply used should be at least 2.0 A. In our offer you will findpower supplies meeting these parameters, e.g.:Extreme 3.1 A power supply.
Android TV and NPU in Khadas VIM3.
On theofficial forum of Khadasappeared projectAndroid TV 9for VIM3 board. Thanks to this system it is possible to change an ordinary TV into Smart TV based on Android 9. The list of systems for VIM3 has been updatedhttps://docs.khadas.com/vim3/FirmwareThirdparty.html.
TheNeural Processing Unit(NPU) is an important feature of VIM3 minicomputers. The Khadas team worked with Amlogic to create an AI tool with open source code. Khadas supports Caffe, Tensorflow and Darknet, more models will be available soon.
