Module with a motion sensor working in PIR infrared technology. SparkFun Qwiic PIR is equipped with the EKMB1107112 EKM series from Panasonic, which allows the detection of an object located up to 5 meters from it. It uses the I2C bus to communicate with other devices of the system. in addition, the board has 2x Qwiic connectors, which significantly improves the prototyping process.

How does a PIR sensor work?
Motion sensors working in PIR technology do not return specific data about the distance from the detected object. Instead, they react to far-infrared radiation, have a lens that shapes the area of operation and the maximum detection distance.
