Adjustable step-up/step-down converter
Pololu S9V11E2A is a step-up/step-down converter that keeps the voltage between 2.5 V and 9 V even when the input voltage is lower or higher than the output voltage.
This lets you power a circuit with a stable voltage from a battery that discharges below the output level. The manufacturer specifies a continuous current of up to 1.7 A with an input voltage equal to or higher than the output voltage, and typical efficiency from 85 % to 95 %.
The board measures 10.9 x 16.5 x 4 mm, has pins with a 2.54 mm pitch and an EN input that puts the converter to sleep. Goldpin headers are not included.

Fun fact
One board, many voltages
You can set the output voltage of the S9V11E2A converter with a potentiometer in the range from 2.5 V to 9 V, so one board replaces several fixed-voltage versions. The manufacturer recommends an electrolytic capacitor of about 33 µF between VIN and GND when voltage spikes may appear at the input.

No. The converter has no reverse polarity protection, but it does have thermal and short-circuit protection.
How do I set the voltage?
You set the output voltage with the potentiometer on the board in the range from 2.5 V to 9 V, measuring it with a voltmeter.
