Segment displays are among the simplest and most widely used solutions for presenting numerical data. They consist of LED or LCD segments which, when properly controlled, form digits, letters, and symbols. The most common are 7-segment displays, but 14- and 16-segment versions are also available, allowing for the display of more complex characters. Thanks to their design, segment displays offer high readability, low power consumption, and ease of control, making them an ideal choice for both beginners and advanced electronic projects. They can be driven directly by microcontrollers or via dedicated driver circuits.
